Biomaterials and ultrasound for cartilage regeneration and the treatment of osteoarthritis: the results of the ADMAIORA project, coordinated by the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, published on ACS Nano.

The preclinical results are the basis for future patient translation. “Tests have demonstrated the effectiveness of this paradigm. The next step is testing the treatment on patients” declares Leonardo Ricotti, coordinator of the project.

Is it possible to use pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) stimulation to promote neural regeneration and reduce inflammatory events? What are the optimal parameters to do it?
Our new publication in Engineered Regeneration replies to these questions: https://lnkd.in/dHPaD3hq
These results pave the way for a clinical translation of this technology, aimed at treating polyneuropathies and other chronic pathologies in which inflammation plays a key role.
The publication is the result of a fruitful collaboration between Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Northeastern University and BAC Technology Italy.

ADMAIORA USABILITY TESTS… COMPLETED!!!

We have just completed the usability tests of the smart technologies developed in the ADMAIORA project for cartilage regeneration therapy at home and for remotely monitoring the patient’s healing status over time.
11 volunteers with mild or moderate knee osteoarthritis from all over Italy participated in the testing at the Biorobotics Institute.
Angela, Giorgia, and Andrea are currently analyzing the data… but the results appear to be very promising!
